For forty years already, ever since we began in 1968, nature and the environment have been top priorities at Center Parcs. There has never been any doubt about this: our founder's starting point was always to design parks that promoted harmony between man and nature. Thanks to all our "green" initiatives over the years, Center Parcs is the only organisation in its sector to be awarded ISO 14001 certification. But because we believe that we can always do better, we have set ourselves a series of concrete goals to lend the environment even more of a helping hand. 'Nature deserves a break!'
Below, you will find a selection of green deeds we have implemented to help us reach the following green goals by 2010:
1. Stimulate biodiversity in our parks and their surroundings
2. Exceed environmental regulations by 20% during new building projects
3. Reduce energy usage by 10%
4. Reduce CO2 emissions by 20%
5. Save water and produce less waste
6. Improve environmental awareness amongst guests, co-workers and suppliers
