Green goal 6: Improve environmental awareness amongst guests, co-workers and suppliers
We think it's important that our green efforts are valued and respected. We expect our co-workers and partners to share these values, and we find fun and playful ways to inform our guests about our green way of thinking and acting.
We encourage our suppliers to be environmentally friendly.

- We ask all of the companies that supply us with products and services - such as our cleaning service partners and our laundry service - to use environmentally friendly products and responsible working methods. Just as we do at Center Parcs

- Want to learn something while you're on holiday? At Center Parcs, you can! Together with the Worldwide Fund for Nature, we have developed the Jungle Expedition, for example. During a voyage of discovery through the ancient forest in the Jungle Dome at Het Heijderbos, guests can learn about the importance and vulnerability of the jungle in a playful way
- What do you do with pieces of coral that have been confiscated as illegal souvenirs at Schiphol Airport? They would normally be destroyed, but in this case they formed the basis of our Life in the Ocean Pool. This project opened in De Kempervennen at the end of 2007. It is a swimming pool surrounded by enormous salt-water aquariums full of beautiful coral reefs, which provide a perfect environment for countless tropical fish. The project illustrates the beauty and variation of the sea, but also its vulnerability. In co-operation with the Worldwide Fund for Nature, we use it to show what people can do to end the threat to life in our oceans
We allow ourselves to be assessed by external organisations.
Green deeds:
- Center Parcs is the only organisation in its sector to be granted ISO 14001 certification. This certificate guarantees a responsible environmental policy that conforms to the highest international standards. And even more importantly, it obliges us to continue making improvements each year!
- The Green Key is an annual, international distinction awarded to sustainable recreational and touristic companies, and the international symbol for sustainability. Those awarded the Green Key are stringently reassessed on an annual basis
