Green goal 2: Exceed environmental regulations by 20% during new building projects
Wherever building work takes place, flora and fauna have to be removed. Except at Center Parcs! We always put nature first at our parks, because it's one of the main reasons for our existence. We would, therefore, rather build around nature than through it. We already build according to strict guidelines and with environmentally friendly materials, but we aim to go one step further.
We build in an environmentally responsible manner.
Green deeds:
- From the design phase to execution; each project is continuously regulated according to the stringent construction checklist. And wherever possible, we make use of innovative eco-friendly materials.
- Each project is assessed as to whether it realises Center Parcs' goals, or even better, whether they can be exceeded. To this end, our priorities are as follows:
- Energy management
- Water management
- Waste management and recyclability
- Choice of materials and building methods
- Relationship between the project and its surroundings
- From the very beginning of each project, an external agency is employed to assess how and where we can exceed our environmental goals.
We sow more than we reap.
Green deeds:
- Each new park becomaes a home to more than 500,000 trees and bushes - all suited to the prevailing environmental conditions. The management plan for all this greenery is formulated decades in advance.
