Between 5 April and 7 October 2012, the Floriade World Horticultural Expo will be taking place in Venlo.
This expo will consist of 5 different worlds: themed zones that are joined together by woods. Worlds in which you’ll constantly see, feel and experience nature in a different way. A daily cultural programme will feature music, dance, literature, theatre and visual arts from around the globe. You’ll be amazed time and time again.

Montana Snowcenter

Ski all-year round on real snow in the Montana Snowcenter. Beginners can take skiing or snowboarding lessons, and those with more experience can start skiing straight away. You can also hire skis and snowboards. All the materials are replaced every season, so everything’s in top condition.
After exerting yourself, relax in the café-restaurant with a bite or a drink.

PSV Stadium tour

Take a look around the PSV Stadium and visit places you wouldn’t normally get to see, like the press room and the classy Business Club. The highlights of your visit include standing on the pitch, sitting in the changing rooms and walking through the players’ tunnel. You can also admire the trophies and prizes the club has won, and during the tour, the guide will tell you about all sorts of facts, figures and anecdotes about the club and its rich history. At the end of the tour, have a drink in café De Verlenging, that is totally furnished in PSV club colours.

Van Abbemuseum Eindhoven

The Van Abbemuseum is one of the most influential museums for modern and contemporary art in Europe. It has its own collection of visual arts, displayed in a radically new way in the striking new-build area of the museum. Temporary exhibitions are held regularly in the traditional building.

Papengaaienpark Veldhoven

The Papengaaienpark in Veldhoven is a shelter for exotic birds, especially for parrots, and is open to visitors.
You can see different species of birds here, and even feed them and learn all about them. The birds are brought here by private individuals who can no longer care for them, by the Customs department or the government-run inspection service. The birds enjoy the best care possible at the park.
You can feed the animals yourself, but make sure you know beforehand what they can and can’t eat.

Cycling, walking and canoeing

De Malpie nature reserve is famous for its moorlands, both small and large. The river Dommel flows through this area, and you can see smaller areas of marshland here and there. 
To the north, you can see an old watermill along the Dommel. At the highest points of the dunes to the east of the Groot Malpieven, there are sand drifts.

It’s the perfect place for a stroll or a bike ride, but you can also go on a canoe trip across the river Dommel that flows through the area, and you’ll get to know more about the region in a unique way. You can choose a 2-hour canoe trip or one that lasts 4 1/2 hours.

You can hire bikes at the village. Canoes can be booked at the reception desk at Rofra.
