Floriade 2012

Between 5 April and 7 October 2012, the Floriade World Horticultural Expo will be taking place in Venlo.
This expo will consist of 5 different worlds: themed zones that are joined together by woods. Worlds in which you’ll constantly see, feel and experience nature in a different way. A daily cultural programme will feature music, dance, literature, theatre and visual arts from around the globe. You’ll be amazed time and time again.

Het Meerdal puts great emphasis on leisure activities. The beautiful surroundings are more than suitable for the purpose to participate in the activities; there is an extensive network of bike paths, for example. Decide on route of your bike trip yourself and go explore the superb surroundings.
It's also a wonderful area to hike. You can follow the signposted walking trails through the most beautiful parts of the forest or hike through the nature preserve with its marshes. Fishing fans will surely be able to catch a fish or two
in the small lakes in the area.

Visiting Düsseldorf

The most famous shopping street in Düsseldorf is the Königsallee, affectionately named "Kö" by locals.
Big brands take centre stage here - the street is lined with one designer shop after another. The Media Harbour offers a wide variety of events for all - from the harbour festival to the Dragon Boat regatta. The harbour area is also a
popular night spot.
